No Fathers In Kashmir

Ashvin Kumar’s third film about the political turmoil in Kashmir is a compelling coming of age story about friendship and hope. In the film, British Kashmiri teenager Noor (Zara Webb) arrives in a village on the India-Pakistan border to look for her father. She is joined in her quest by Majid (Shivam Raina), a local Kashmiri boy whose father has gone missing too. Unwittingly they uncover dark secrets of Kashmir’s conflict and are confronted with the human cost of militancy.

The film faced opposition due to its controversial take on the conflict, but was praised by critics as an honest and compassionate account on the impact of Kashmir’s tragedy on the life or ordinary people.
